The Power of Prayer

We've been hosting short-term missions teams for about the past month. With it comes extra stuff to do, less sleep, & amazing opportunities! We had a team here from Cal State Stanislaus (central CA) & they were such a blessing.

One of their first nights here we planned an all night prayer walk down at Plaza del Sol, the area where we are starting our transvestite prostitute ministry. The prayer walks were with groups of 5-7 people in one hour shifts from 12-4am. Sadly, due to sickness, I wasn't able to go. But from what I hear, it was spirit-filled & life-changing!

Our prostitute ministry has been slow and coming. Our desire (and really our need) is to connect with a church or ministry here that can come alongside us. We want a ministry to grow and thrive long after we're gone, and in order to do that, we need the local church. But that's hard to do! This type of ministry comes with many challenges along the way & requires a lot of preparation & prayer. At times it is discouraging; a lot of thought & no action. (And for those of you who know me well, I like ACTION!) And still we wait...but God has planted this ministry in our hearts for a reason, & our prayer night was proof of that.

With each group came new hearts & eyes; new opportunities to hear from God in different ways. And He delivered! By the end of the night, one thing was clear: a supernatural work from God is necessary. These men are hurting & need to experience the raw love of Jesus. And though we can't do it alone, we must move forward in intentional prayer & conversation.

So here we stand, waiting for something big. Can you help us pray? Pray for:
-- a local church/organization to come alongside us -- guidance/direction
-- preparation in our hearts for what we will encounter -- divine touch in all we do
-- preparation in their hearts to hear & receive the love of God
-- a clear calling

We trust & believe that God is already working in & through us, for them, & that lives will be changed for Jesus! Thank you for praying with us.
