For all have sinned & fall short of the glory of God ~ Romans 3:23
~~~
No one is greater, none insignificant; we are all sinners
How often do we view God's people, all of them, as treasure? The Stanislaus team brought us yet another perspective. One that we should never lose sight of, & yet, do so often. God's children, all of us, are His treasure.
One day we set out, intentionally, to find God's treasure. At first, we spent time in prayer, individually seeking God's voice & whatever He had for us. We prayed specifically for a name, description, location, unique fact & a prayer need. For some, He said a lot & for others, not so much. But either way, He had a plan.
Then as a group we set out to find our treasure. Our treasure consisted of: a lady in a white hat, marijuana leaf, older woman sitting near a planter wearing grey, & a man with a navy blue shirt & khaki shorts. And out we set...
Now some say it's hard to move to another country, but I say it's even harder to approach people & pray for them! The first couple attempts were both frightening & humbling. Not only were we approaching strangers to ask if we could pray for them, but we were doing it in Spanish as well! And I was the prime spanish speaker in our group, so a little more frightening for me.
With three failed attempts, we were on our way out when someone said, "There's a lady in a white hat. Let's go!" And we were off. We approached her & I explained that we had been praying & God had placed her on our hearts. I asked if she needed prayer for anything & she shared some health issues. At that moment, we laid hands on her, in the middle of the plaza, & prayed for her. She felt a sense of peace & light that day, & experienced God the Healer.
As we walked away, our hearts were filled with joy. Can you imagine being approached by a complete stranger in the middle of the mall, asking if they can pray for you? And even more, can you imagine being spurred onto to agree in prayer?! Not only was God speaking to us but He was speaking to her. And we found our treasure.
Have you sought out God's treasure today? Everyday is an opportunity to find the lost, hurting, loved, or abandoned & bring them back to Jesus. Will you take it?
