Every year there are two big celebrations in the Vincent household: first it starts off with my birthday. This year I turned 29, which is hard to believe for so many reasons. And second, it marks the anniversary of the day Matt was found in the mountains, 8 years ago this month. (If you’ve never heard this story, it is an incredible journey of God’s provision. I will try to post this story soon). These 2 celebrations remind us that God just isn’t through with us yet, individually or as a couple. And for that, I am grateful.
May also brought a crazy, yet fun-filled week in Oklahoma, Texas, & California. It was 5 days that involved 3 states, 2 weddings, 1 missed train, 1 almost-missed flight, lost luggage in Dallas (when I was already home in CA), & amazing time with friends & family. And thankfully just days shy of all the tornadoes that ripped through both TX & OK. I thank you, Mrs. Lani Dunn for having gotten married the weekend you did in order to spare this earthquake-experienced/tornado-inexperienced girl from wreaking havoc in public places due to oncoming storms. You should be thankful too.
May also brought about some answered prayers; prayers that have been in the works for years. It just reminded me that God hears our cries, prayers, outright screams of frustration, anger, & fear. He hears them. And He answers them. I’m still not sure what took so long, but either way, this is a grateful heart looking ahead.
And now we’re into June…
…we just celebrated my nephew Vincent’s 5th birthday. Amazing to think how much our lives have changed in the past 5 years
…also the celebration of Sister Laura’s birthday & thinking back on our Mexican-style celebration last year.
…& the long-awaited countdown for baby Dominic has begun (just about 3 weeks out, more than likely)
Things are looking up…
*2nd wedding picture: The new Mrs. Lauren Axline. Lauren (Tice) was my roommate all 4 years in college. The wedding was in California.
