Estamos viviendo en Mexico...por fin!

Well, we finally made it! After 6 long days in the car (from CA -> Tucson -> Carlsbad -> San Angelo -> Austin -> Monterrey -> Guadalajara) we arrived safely in our new home for the next year.

We didn't go without some adventure though! We switched part of our route last minute to visit the White Sand Dunes and Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico. Then we were also able to spend some good quality time with friends from college and my cousin Doug, in Austin, Texas. It was awesome!

Some other parts of our adventure include: almost getting run off the road & hit by a semi, almost burning my eye out of its socket in the shower, getting to stay in an extra-fancy hotel in San Angelo because it was the ONLY room left in the entire city due to a rodeo, getting lost on the way to our hotel in Monterrey, MX, and driving through 3 uncontained fires (in Mexico - out of 6). I am sure there were more exciting moments, but I can't think of them at the moment.

Anwyho - we can't thank everyone enough for your prayers over our journey! We didn't have any car problems (which is a miracle in itself), and the border was super easy! They didn't even look at our car, which was an answer to prayer. It would have been horrible reloading the car, full of stuff for a year! But thankfully we didn't have to.

And here we are - settled into our new "home" (a room in the missionaries house). We will live here for 3 months and then get our own apartment after that. We love our little abode and are totally unpacked. There are 19 college students here that we get to work with, as well as 5 full-time missionaries. Even though we're still getting settled, we are really loving it here! Guadalajara is a beautiful city and the people are wonderful!
